| The RosettaNet initiative takes it's name from the Rosetta Stone. The stone was created over 2,000 years ago and discovered in the city of Rosetta, Egypt in 1799. It was inscribed with 1 message in 3 ancient languages; Egyptian hieroglyphics, Demotic, and Greek. It helped to unlock the then unknown language of Egyptian hieroglyphics and used as an open and common standard to interpret hieroglyphics. RosettaNet is an independent, non-profit consortium dedicated to the collaborative development and rapid deployment of open, Internet-based business standards that align processes within the global high-technology trading network. Like the Rosetta Stone, Rosettanet is breaking language barriers and making history. | |
